AMMAN — The Amman-based Arab Wings on Thursday celebrated its receipt of the first air ambulance licence in the region granted by the Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC).
The licence enables the private airline to transport patients to and from Jordan’s hospitals, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Deputising for the Minister of Health, Secretary-General for Primary Health Care and Epidemiology Raed Shboul highlighted that healthcare initiatives like this will contribute to the continued development of medical tourism in Jordan and to the national economy.
Arab Wings CEO Ahmed Abu Ghazaleh said the license will enable the airline to airlift patients to and from Jordan, as well as any other country in the region or in the EU.
He pointed out that the airline has contracted with Abdali Hospital to provide medical staff in the air ambulance to accompany patients.
