AMMAN — The 18th Arab Towns Organisation conference, which was hosted by the Greater Amman Municipality under the title “Sustainable Cities and Stronger Partnership”, on Wednesday ended with two concluding seminars. Participants emphasised that the concept of smart cities means digital cities that depend on ICT infrastructure and smart traffic systems, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
They also stressed the importance of establishing and preserving cultural facilities in cities such as theatres, libraries and cultural centres, forming partnerships with community cultural organisations, building cultural networks between cities and bolstering cultural cooperation.
The conference reviewed the successful experiences of some cities and e-judiciary and legislation in smart sustainable cities which allows litigants to file lawsuits, present evidence and attend court sessions via electronic means of communication.
