AMMAN — The Arab Thought Forum (ATF) on Sunday hosted former politician and media affairs minister Samir Mutawe, who presented a lecture titled “The 1967 war: a Jordanian perspective”, an ATF statement said.
During the lecture, Mutawe discussed the “inevitability” of the war, Israel’s goals of waging the war at that particular moment and the coalition between Jordan, Egypt and Syria from a strategic perspective, in addition to the reasons behind the Arab defeat.
ATF Secretary General Mohammad Abu Hammour, who moderated the lecture, said that the war had “deeply affected” modern Arab history and shaped the relations in the region and the world.
