AMMAN — The Arab Potash Company (APC) is to open an export office in Brazil in the upcoming period as the red granular potash is in high demand in the South American country, APC CEO Maen Nsour said on Wednesday.
Nsour’s remarks came during Brazilian Ambassador to Jordan Ruy Amaral’s visit to the company’s factories in Ghour Al Safi, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The company’s exports of red granular potash to Brazil went up from 42,000 tonnes in 2019 to 154,000 tonnes in 2020, Nsour said, expecting to export larger quantities by the end of this year.
The diplomat commended APC’s manufacturing technologies, notably safety procedures. Brazil’s consumption of red granular potash is estimated at 11.5 million tonnes a year.
