Arab Parliament hails King’s stances in defending Arab causes

AMMAN — Speaker of the Arab Parliament Adel Al Asoomi on Wednesday commended the “pure Arab” stances of His Majesty King Abdullah in defending Arab causes and protecting the Arab national security.

Asoomi, in a statement on the 76th anniversary of independence of the Kingdom, praised the efforts of King Abdullah, the Hashemite Custodian over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, in defending and protecting holy sites, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The speaker also stressed that Jordan's "solid diplomacy" is a model to follow in bearing the Arab national responsibility and defending just Arab causes. Asoomi also congratulated His Majesty on Independence Day, stressing that it is a “dear and precious occasion for every Arab and embodies the highest meanings of sacrifice for the sake of homeland and reflects the strength, will and resilience of the Jordanian people in facing challenges”.

He also expressed best wishes to King Abdullah and wished the Jordanian people more progress and prosperity.
