Arab Parliament extends greetings on Jordan’s Independence Day

AMMAN — The Arab Parliament on Wednesday extended its greetings to His Majesty King Abdullah, and the Jordanian government, people and Parliament on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of Independence Day.

Arab Parliament Speaker Adel Abdulrahman Al Asoomi lauded King Abdullah’s unwavering commitment to Arab causes. Jordan, under His Majesty's leadership, “wholeheartedly believes in the unity of purpose, destiny and common interests of the Arab peoples”, Asoomi said.

He expressed admiration for His Majesty's continuous support for collective Arab efforts, fostering Arab solidarity and advocating for Arab issues, most notably the Palestinian cause.

He also commended Jordan's ongoing efforts in safeguarding the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, underscoring the importance of the Hashemite Custodianship, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
