AMMAN — The foreign ministers of five Arab countries who had planned to visit the occupied West Bank this weekend on Saturday condemned Israel's decision to block their plans.
The ministers condemned "Israel's decision to ban the delegation's visit to Ramallah [on Sunday] to meet with the president of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas", a Foreign Ministry statement said.
“The ministerial delegation affirmed that Israel’s decision to prevent the delegation from visiting Ramallah and meeting with President Abbas and Palestinian officials, constitutes a blatant violation of Israel’s obligations as the occupying power. It also reflects the extent of the Israeli government's arrogance, its disregard for international law, and its continued implementation of illegal measures and policies that besiege the brotherly Palestinian people and their legitimate leadership,” the statement said.
The ministry said that foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Bahrain, alongside secretary-general of Arab League arrived in Amman on Saturday and will meet later on the day and on Sunday with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi.
