Aqaba to host West Asian Triathlon Championship on Friday

AMMAN — The Jordan Triathlon Association is preparing to host the West Asian Triathlon Championship in Ayla -Aqaba on Friday, according to a statement released by the organisers on Tuesday.

Kicking off at the Ayla Oasis waterfront in Aqaba, 330km south of Amman, the race will consist of a 750m swim, a 20km bike race, and a 5km run.

Jordan Triathlon Association Technical Director Yahya Daud said the race is among the largest sporting events in the region, especially in terms of visibility, as multiple international TV channels are expected to broadcast the competition, according to the statement.
