Anti-virus cooperation tops FM’s talks with UAE, Morocco counterparts

AMMAN — Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Wednesday discussed cooperation and coordination in confronting the novel coronavirus and its repercussions with UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Speaking over the phone, the ministers affirmed the “absolute solidarity” between the Kingdom and the UAE to battle the pandemic, highlighting the continuous cooperation in addressing  repercussions of the coronavirus crisis, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

Talks also covered the latest regional developments within the context of ongoing coordination that “the leaderships of the two countries have devoted as an institutional approach in their strategic relations”, for the best service of common interests, as well as to overcome the regional challenges, read the statement.

Safadi also discussed coordinating anti-coronavirus efforts with his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita, with the two sides underlining “full” cooperation and “systematic” coordination in implementing the instructions of the two countries' leaderships, “whose brotherly relations are seeing sustainable development and growing cooperation in all fields”.

The ministers also discussed the latest regional developments, joint action towards resolving regional crises and serving common interests and Arab issues, the statement said.
