Anti-drug police arrest suspected dealer in Aqaba — PSD

AMMAN — Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel have arrested a suspected drug dealer in Aqaba, 330km south of the capital, in possession of narcotic pills, the Public Security Department (PSD) announced on Thursday.

AND agents followed the suspect after receiving a tip-off that he intended to smuggle the narcotics into a neighbouring country, the PSD said in a statement.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect was hiding drugs in his house, the PSD said. Security agents raided the suspect’s residence and arrested him, before finding 25,000 narcotic pills hidden in tyres, said the PSD.
