AND officer injured during raid operation against drug smugglers

AMMAN — Anti-Narcotic Department's (AND) agent was injured during an operation against drug traffickers and smugglers classified as dangerous in northern Badia.

The Public Security Directorate's (PSD) spokesperson said that the injured operative was hospitalised and is under treatment, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

During a raid on a hideout of a number of drugs smugglers and traders who had disappeared from sight following the launching of a security campaign in the Ruwaished region, where the rules of engagement were implemented, a policeman was injured, the spokesperson said, adding that a drug trader was arrested, and quantities of narcotic pills, crystal substance, a firearm, and a quantity of live ammunition were seized. The spokesperson also highlighted that the police are still in pursuit.
