AND arrests drug dealer classified as 'dangerous, wanted for murder'

AMMAN — An investigation team from the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) identified the hideout of a suspected drug trafficker who is classified as “dangerous and wanted for murder”, the Public Security Directorate spokesperson said on Tuesday.

Team members identified the location of the suspect, who used a tent in a secluded area in Mafraq to store and trade drugs, the spokesperson said in a PSD statement.

A security force raided the tent at dawn on Tuesday, where the suspect tried to escape by using a gun, yet security agents managed to arrest him in possession of narcotics, along with two others who were in the tent. During the initial investigation of the suspect, security agents seized 100,000 narcotic pills, guns and a large quantity of ammunition that were hidden in a house, the spokesperson added.
