AND arrests 18 suspects in drug-related cases

AMMAN — Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel recently arrested 18 suspects possessing various narcotics that amounted to 10,000 pills in the past few days, an official Public Security Department (PSD) statement said on Tuesday.
In Mafraq, security personnel foiled an attempt to smuggle narcotics by several Arab nationals, including two Syrians, PSD Spokesperson Col. Amer Sartawi stated. Six other Arab nationals were arrested in Amman, charged with possessing and promoting narcotic pills.
In Sahab, south of the capital, three suspects were arrested, Sartawi said, in addition to two others in Baqaa and another in Madaba on drug-related charges.
