AMMAN — The Amman governor has prevented the Jordan Society for Human Rights from holding a meeting with media representatives that was scheduled to be held on Saturday, January 14, in Century Park Hotel, the society said in a statement issued on Thursday.
The society said it was informed of the governor’s decision at 2:57pm on Thursday, which they said is three minutes before the end of official working hours, despite having informed the governor about the meeting since December 29 in accordance with the law, according to the statement. The gathering aimed at discussing the contribution of media outlets to promoting human rights, the statement said.
