AMMAN— Amman Baccalaureate School (ABS) has announced its “successful” reaccreditation through the IB and NEASC Collaborative Learning Protocol (CLP), becoming the first school in Jordan to achieve this “milestone”.
Founded in 1981 by Their Royal Highnesses Prince El Hassan and Princess Sarvath, ABS has consistently led the way in educational innovation, combining global standards with “deep-rooted” values.
This latest achievement is a continuation of that pioneering legacy, according to a statement from ABS.
The CLP is a progressive model designed to promote transformational learning, student agency and continuous institutional growth.
The joint International Baccalaureate (IB) and New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) evaluation team praised ABS for its “strategic” vision, inclusive leadership, culture of feedback, and “unwavering” commitment to student wellbeing and voice.
ABS’s long list of educational firsts includes being the first school in Jordan to offer the IB Diploma Programme, the first bilingual IB school, and the first in the region to be authorised for the full IB continuum: Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP).
Chairman of the Board of Trustees HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan expressed her appreciation to the entire ABS community.
Princess Sumaya said, “This reaccreditation is more than a procedural milestone. It is a reflection of who we are and how far we have come as a community of learners, educators and families.”
“My heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to this success. Alf Mabrouk - this is a proud moment for Jordan and for ABS,” the princess added.
The school recognises the leadership of Principal Fiyaz Ahmed, as well as Vice Principals Cathy Souob and Dima Azzam Qubain, Senior Director of Studies Gavin Sourgen, and IB Coordinators Jwan Kolaghassi, Haia Al Afaghany and Nermin Abu Assaf, along with the entire ABS staff, students and families.
This is another chapter in the proud story of ABS - one of excellence, innovation and enduring impact, the statement added.
