AMMAN — Amazon on Tuesday announced its first-ever hackathon for university students in Jordan, Amazon Teckathon. Taking place virtually and spread over three development days from September 14-16, Amazon Teckathon participants will be asked to engage, collaborate and innovate together to develop creative software solutions with real-life impact designed to improve various aspects of community life, according to a statement from the multinational company.
Participants will be expected to write a fully working proof-of-concept application and create a presentation video to showcase their solution.
Amazon Teckathon is open to all university students in Jordan with a passion for technology, software solution development know-how and a strong sense of competition, who are willing to contribute their skills for a chance to win a series of prizes including cash scholarships for the top three winning teams, the statement said. Entry is currently open to individual students or teams of up to three through the official hackathon website www.amazonteckathon.com.
