Al Maktoum Foundation donates JD100,000 to fallen officers fund

AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat on Thursday met Senate President Faisal Fayez, head of the Jordanian-UAE Aid Committee, and Hussein Sayegh, the committee’s deputy.

During the meeting, Fayez presented a cheque worth JD100,000 in donation provided by Al Maktoum Foundation to the fund for the families of fallen army and security personnel, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

In January 2017, His Majesty King Abdullah directed Freihat to establish a fund to support the families of the army and security bodies’ personnel who died in the line of duty, to enhance the current support provided to those families, starting with JD5 million in donation from the Royal Court budget.
