AMMAN — The Royal Jordanian Air Force intercepted and shot down a drone that entered Jordanian airspace over the eastern desert early Tuesday, the Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army (JAF) said.
In a statement, the JAF said air defence systems detected the drone and engaged it in accordance with the approved rules of engagement.
The Armed Forces reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the Kingdom's borders and preserving its security and sovereignty, stressing that they will not tolerate any threat to national security or the safety of Jordanian citizens.
