Agreement signed to support school heating project

AMMAN — The Jordan Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund (JREEEF), the Energy Ministry and Naua, an initiative of the Crown Prince Foundation (CPF), signed an agreement to support the school heating project, which JREEEF is implementing this year across the Kingdom.

According to a JREEEF statement cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Naua will organise volunteer work for maintenance and painting in the targeted schools.

The school heating project is part of a Royal Initiative to provide appropriate classroom environments in various governorates.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and JREEEF Chairperson Hala Zawati, who signed the agreement on behalf of the fund, expressed her appreciation of the cooperation and partnership with the CPF and the Naua Initiative. 

She expressed the importance of the fund’s support for the educational sector and its investment in the future of “our generations”.

The minister said that the project has realised “great success and impacts” on classroom environments. The project has so far targeted 157 schools across the Kingdom, costing a total of JD10 million.

CPF CEO Tamam Mango expressed appreciation of CPF’s cooperation with JREEEF to realise joint community service goals.

JREEEF Director Rasmi Hamzeh said that the project includes all procedures related to rationalising energy consumption and adopting renewable energy resources to realise His Majesty King Abdullah’s vision to provide proper classroom environments. The works include renewable heating and cooling systems at schools.
