Agreement signed to activate 4 youth centres

AMMAN — The Youth Ministry and Resilient Youth, Socially and Economically Empowered (RYSE) consortium, led by the Danish Refugee Council, on Thursday signed a cooperation agreement to activate and stimulate four youth centres.

A ministry statement, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, said that the agreement is part of the RYSE project that is implemented through the Jordan River Foundation (JRF), Generations for Peace – Jordan, Injaz, and Mercy Corps, with funding from Novo Nordisk Foundation.

Under the agreement, the four centres will be supported through establishing robotic workshops and educational resources rooms, in addition to holding training programmes for more than 300 young people and 46 employees concerned with the youth sector.

Youth Minister Mohammad Nabulsi said that youth centres and their development is a priority, noting that the ministry has prepared a reform plan for the sector.

RYSE Director Reem Qaisi said that providing a youth-friendly environment for youth within their local communities guarantees providing real learning opportunities.
