Administrative Committee meets with customs department over queries, role

AMMAN — The Lower House's Administrative Committee, chaired by MP Ali Hajahjeh, on Monday visited the Jordan Customs Department (JCD), the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The committee and the JCD Director General Maj. Gen. Abdulmajid Alrahamneh, as well as the department’s personnel discussed a number of issues that concern the country and the citizens.
Alrahamneh explained the JCD's role in maintaining economic and social security, providing facilities and simplifying procedures for traders and citizens, in addition to channelling revenues to the Treasury.
He also responded to the MPs’ queries on issues of concern to the trade sector, investors and passengers, as well as the need to develop a national mechanism that could provide solutions to the problems caused by the state of the global economy.
