Abu Rumman meets with youth envoy

AMMAN — Minister of Youth Mohammed Abu Rumman has discussed developing youth skills with the UN Secretary General's Envoy on Youth Jayathma Wickramanayake.
Abu Rumman said that the youth are the ministry's top priority, adding that the government has recently adopted a national strategy that includes political, economic and cultural programmes that target the young people, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The minister also reviewed some of the upcoming programmes that the ministry is scheduled to launch. For her part, the UN envoy hailed Jordan's leading role in international forums, underlining the importance of UN Security Council Resolution 2250 on youth, peace and security.
She added that unemployment is a problem facing all nations hindering skilled youth from contributing to their countries.
