8th Salt hospital victim died of COVID — attorney general

AMMAN — Amman Attorney General Hassan Abdallat on Sunday said, citing the post-mortem report, that the eighth victim in the New Salt Hospital died of a COVID infection and not due to a lack of oxygen.

In a statement reported by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, he said that the investigation is still ongoing into the medical tragedy. A total of nine patients died, of which six patients died due to an oxygen outage in the hospital.

The Salt public prosecutor on Saturday ordered the arrest of five hospital officials over seven counts of charges of causing death by association and sent them to custody for a week.
