80% of public expenditure goes to salaries — senator

AMMAN — Public sector salaries consume more than 80 per cent of current expenditures, while only JD64 million is allocated for capital expenditures for this year’s projects, according to Senate Energy Committee Chairman Jawad Anani.
In a lecture he delivered at the Egyptian Universities and Institutes Alumni Club, Anani, a former Royal Court chief, presented a number of suggestions to resolve economic difficulties the Kingdom is going through.
He cited a Swiss study that said Tafileh is a place to produce electricity from wind and Maan for solar power.
