AMMAN — The seventh edition of the Regional Forum for Natural Reserves Leaders kicked off on Wednesday in the Ajloun Forest Reserve. During the event, organised in cooperation with the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN), Mohammed Al Khashashneh, the secretary-general of the Ministry of Environment, highlighted Jordan’s pioneering role in environmental conservation. The RSCN is the ministry’s key strategic partner, with a joint focus on strengthening the country’s environmental shield, he said. Highlighting Jordan’s commitment to environmental protection, he noted that the Kingdom has numerous international environmental agreements dedicated not only to the protection of biodiversity, but also to the sustainable management of its integral elements. The forum’s 14-day deliberations will feature the participation of representatives from Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco and Palestine, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
