AMMAN — The EU last Thursday announced nine projects that won a 6 million euro grant for renewable energy.
The grant was distributed to the projects based on their needs and nature of work, according to Energy Minister Ibrahim Saif.
The EU is cooperating with Jordan on green energy to help secure its energy needs, EU Ambassador to Jordan Joanna Wronecka said. Each individual grant varies between a minimum of 200,000 euros and a maximum of 750,000 euros.
The funds will cover 80-90 per cent of each project’s costs, with the remainder covered by the local institute implementing it.
