598 cultural commissions registered with Culture Ministry’

AMMAN — A total of 598 cultural commissions are registered with the Ministry of Culture, 45 per cent of which are in Amman and 15 per cent in Irbid, the ministry’s secretary general, Bassem Zu’bi, said Saturday.
At a symposium held at the Jordanian Writers Society, he said the ministry annually allocates JD300,000 to support cultural commissions and JD200,000 to aid their projects.
The ministry also spends JD500,000 to support cultural city projects, most of which is allocated to assist cultural commissions and movements in the city.
