AMMAN — SOS Children's Villages Jordan celebrated 40 years of dedicated service to children and families with a heartfelt ceremony at the Sheraton Amman Hotel.

“This association began with one goal: that every child has the right to belong to a family,” said Mustafa Wishah, chairman of the board of SOS Children's Villages Jordan, in the opening speech.

The event gathered over 270 guests, including government officials, international representatives and generous supporters. And it featured a powerful presence from youth in SOS Children’s Villages, who took the stage to share their stories.

“I grew up in SOS Children’s Villages, and today I stand before you as a professional fashion designer,” one man said.

Lanna Idriss, CEO of SOS Children’s Villages WorldWide, praised the organisation’s impactful family-like care in Jordan, particularly its shelter programmes for women and their children. “This commitment to providing secure spaces not only supports children but also strengthens families, ensuring mothers have the resources and support they need to raise their children in loving, stable homes,” she said in a statement.

A poignant moment during the ceremony honored the memory of mothers, youth, caregivers, staff and board members who have passed away. The Association also paid tribute to former national directors, recognizing the profound dedication of both current and retired SOS mothers, whose nurturing care has profoundly impacted the lives of countless children.

“These are not just numbers. It is lives changed, futures shaped, and communities strengthened,” said Rana Zoubi, the national director of SOS Children’s Villages Jordan.
