AMMAN — Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Wednesday inaugurated the 37th Jerash Festival.
Khasawneh lit the torch of the event, marking the beginning of the festival’s activities.
The opening was attended by a number of Jordanian and Arab ministers from Egypt and Lebanon, alongside artists.
Minister of Culture Haifa Najjar stressed that the festival is considered a focal cultural spot, bringing together music, folk heritage, poetry, literature, visual arts, crafts and cultural activities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
