35 water theft cases detected in Maan

AMMAN —The Ministry of Water and Irrigation, during a joint security campaign carried out in cooperation with the Public Security Directorate (PSD), detected 35 water theft cases  in the Hussainiyah area of Maan Governorate.

The suspects illegally diverted water from the main pipeline to wash vehicles and supply sprinklers and kiosks at stops on the side of the Desert Highway. A ministry statement on Wednesday said that the violators were referred to the relevant authorities.

The ministry statement expressed appreciation of the authorities, official institutions and the public for their awareness and cooperation in this campaign, stressing that any water theft case on any water source is a crime.
