3,400 institutions shut down for violating defence orders

AMMAN — More than 3,400 institutions had been shut down and 3,600 fines issued by oversight teams including specialists from the ministries of Industry, Trade and Supply and Labour, since the enforcement of curfew measures last March until Wednesday, for violating defence orders, the Labour Ministry announced on Thursday.
The Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Tariq Hammouri, who is also the chairman of the work, production and supply chains committee, called on citizens to report facilities that fail to abide by Defence Order No. 11, public safety and health measures, including wearing face masks by employees and visitors, physical distancing and availability of sterilisers.
Citizens are invited to report violations and issues related to the markets via 06/5661176, from 8am to 10pm, in addition to the social media platforms of the ministry and other government institutions, he added.
