AMMAN — Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel have arrested three people, including an African national, who allegedly attempted to scam citizens using the “black dollar”, a security source said on Wednesday.
CID personnel followed up on a tip they received a few days earlier about three people who attempted to convince citizens that they have large amounts of dyed foreign banknotes that they could change into real ones, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The source said the suspects were found in possession of “big” amounts of dollar-like notes and chemicals, adding that an investigation was still ongoing.
