‘2,611 women benefited from SSC’s maternity insurance this year’

AMMAN – The Social Security Corporation (SSC) on Monday said the number of women who benefited from maternity insurance during the first four months of 2016 reached 2,611 at a cost of JD2.83 million.

The total number of insured women has risen to 23,183, including 521 non-Jordanians, an SSC statement said.

Maternity insurance entails paying women — once the baby is born — a lump sum equivalent to their salary to cover their 10-week maternity leave.
