AMMAN — Police have made 220 arrests for violations since the announcement of the Tawjihi (General Secondary Education Certificate Examination) results on Saturday.
The Public Security Directorate’s (PSD) spokesperson said that 20 people were arrested for firing shots in the air and seized the firearms. The PSD has also issued 3,617 traffic tickets for reckless driving and seized 333 vehicles during the Tawjihi celebrations.
The security directorate also urged the public to abide by the law and report any festive firing or illegal activities by calling the command centre on 911 or sending WhatsApp messages to 0797911911, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
