AMMAN — An army source said on Sunday that Border Guards received 215 Syrian refugees during the previous 72 hours.
The troops moved the refugees to shelters and camps, and Royal Medical Services personnel treated the injured, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, quoted the source as saying.
Border Guards in 2015 received 16,997 Syrian refugees, an official source at the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) said earlier this year.
The source added that the army recorded 85 cases of infiltration attempts involving 132 people.
Border Guards also seized 1,473 pieces of various weapons, and 6,659 bullets in 2015, according to the JAF source.
The army also responded to trafficking attempts that resulted in the confiscation of 16,768,684 Captagon pills, 893,060 palm-sized sheets of hashish and 20,000 Tramadol pills.
