AMMAN — The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Amman held the 2021 K-pop World Festival Jordan Preliminary at the Haya Cultural Centre on Saturday.
This event was co-hosted by Jordan K-pop Lovers, according to an embassy statement.
This Jordan Qualifier is the final selection of six out of 12 teams selected in the first round (12 out of 70 teams, hosted by Shams Theatre) on July 3. A total of six teams will be selected, including the top four dance teams and two particularly impressive K-pop-related personal changes and growth stories, the statement said.
A total of six teams will be eligible to participate in the global audition for the final stage to be held in Korea in October.
The final stage in Korea will be held through a non-face-to-face participation method, temporarily, according to the statement.
Muna Abed Albaseet, the leader of Jordan K-pop Lovers who co-hosted this event, said: “The preparation process for this event was very thorough and demanding. Nevertheless, we have been very careful with the government’s guidance and safety measures for COVID-19.”
The K-pop World Festival is meaningful for Jordanians to enjoy Korean culture (K-Culture), to promote the spread of K-Pop and to prepare an event where Jordan and Korea can enjoy K-Culture together, read the statement.
