AMMAN —The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) has arrested two suspected drug dealers in possession of firearms and large amounts of narcotics in Northern Badia, the spokesman for the Public Security Directorate said on Monday.
He added that AND personnel received a tip-off about two individuals, who had been previously convicted with drug-related charges.
The suspects were in possession of large quantities of drugs with the intention of selling and promoting them inside the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Security agents identified their whereabouts and raided two separate storage locations in an unpopulated area in Northern Badia.
The two suspects were arrested after one tried to escape and used the firearm in his possession, the spokesperson said, noting that some 53,000 narcotic pills, 56 palm-sized sheets of Hashish and three firearms were seized in the operation.
