AMMAN — Irbid Prosecutor General on Wednesday officially filed charges against an individual for spreading rumours that dozens of suffocation and fainting cases were reported at Al Hassan Sport City’ s COVID-19 vaccination centre.
The charges include fabricating crimes, disturbing the public peace and spreading false news with the intent of terrifying people.
Also on Tuesday, authorities arrested an individual for allegedly filing inconsistent complaints to the police that dozens of people fainted and suffered from suffocation and after receiving the COVID vaccine, a claim denied by Irbid governor Radwan Ottoum, head of health directorate Riyad Shaiab and an official source from the National Centre for Security and Crisis Management, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
