180,000 narcotic pills seized

AMMAN — Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel have seized 180,000 narcotic pills in Aqaba, the Public Security Department’s (PSD) media centre announced Monday.

AND personnel managed to gather information on the suspects, who had prepared an amount of narcotics to smuggle into a neighbouring country, according to a PSD statement.

A special AND team identified the location where the narcotics were hidden and monitored it, but the suspects never showed up.

The team then searched the entire area before finding the pills.

An investigation was launched to locate the suspects, the statement added.
