18-year-old drowns in agricultural pond

AMMAN — A teenager drowned on Monday in a rainwater pond in Deir Abi Saeed in Irbid’s Kurah District, the Civil Defence Department (CDD) said.

CDD divers rescued the 18-year-old and took him to Princess Raya Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The CDD urged citizens to abide by instructions warning against swimming in dams, water channels and agricultural ponds that could threaten their lives.
