AMMAN — A total of 145 establishments out of 300, which have complaints registered against them, paid delayed salaries for March to 7,088 workers in accordance with Defence Order No. 6 by the end of the third day of the seven-day grace period announced by the Labour Ministry on Monday.
A total of 12,000 workers submitted complaints concerning the payment of salaries.
According to a ministry statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, on Monday, 407 workers out of 1,300 returned to work.
Many institutions did not apply to reduce wages and opted to pay full salaries to employees who are not performing work, which “shows the responsibility of these establishments”, the statement said.
The ministry is working on developing a package to support private sector workplaces that have “shown commitment and keenness”, according to the statement.
