AMMAN — The number of Jordanian companies doing business under the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) has exceeded 125 by the end of the first half of 2024, compared with 115 companies at the end of 2023.
The official website of the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, said on Sunday that the activities of Jordanian companies at the QFC cover various economic sectors.
Most of these activities are in financial technology, banking and finance, money management, savings and investment, ICT, hospitality, public services, trade, import and export, small industries and artificial intelligence.
Jordanian companies registered with the QFC, one of the largest financial and commercial centres in the Middle East, have a strong presence and continuous growth, with Jordan ranking first among Arab countries, after Qatar, in the number of companies operating under the centre's umbrella.
The QFC provides Jordanian companies with a high-level platform that helps these firms establish their commercial operations in Qatar, manage them, and expand to other markets in the region and beyond.
The assets currently managed by the QFC exceed $28 billion.
Jordanian companies, along with other QFC companies, benefit from a wide range of incentives and encouraging privileges, such as 100 per cent foreign ownership, a single e-platform for completing licensing procedures, commercial registration, visas and passports, and a competitive corporate tax rate of 10 per cent on profits generated from local sources.
The QFC offers the ability to transfer profits abroad without tax, enjoys a transparent operating environment that is easily accessible, has a dedicated centre for resolving administrative disputes accredited by the International Labour Organisation, allows trade in any currency, and provides facilitated visa and employment procedures.
