‘12,367 social security subscribers retired in 2014’

AMMAN — The total number of retirees in 2014 reached 12,367, 8,506 of whom are early retirees, Social Security Corporation (SSC) Spokesperson Musa Sbeihi said Tuesday.

During a lecture he delivered at Israa University’s faculty of law, Sbeihi said that early retirees constituted 69 per cent of the total number of retirees in 2014, according to a SSC statement.

He also noted that 74,000 (44 per cent) of the total number of 166,300 pensioners until the end of 2014, are early retirees.
