12 beggars detained in Ruseifa in Ramadan

ZARQA — Twelve beggars have been detained since the beginning of Ramadan in different neighbourhoods in Ruseifa, district director Hijazi Assaf said Thursday. Intensified inspection campaigns are being conducted to apprehend beggars, Assaf added.

Ruseifa social development director Ahmad Zaben said beggars take advantage of people’s inclination to donate money during Ramadan and play on their “religious feelings” to make money illegally.

He said the Social Development Ministry allocates monthly allowances for underprivileged families and orphans.
