115 accredited media institutions in Jordan — commission

AMMAN — The number of accredited media institutions in the Kingdom, both Arab and foreign, stood at 115 as of the middle of August, according to the Media Commission’s records, which revealed that the number of accredited journalists stood at 398.
The number of satellite television and radio stations for the same period amounted to 35 and 40 respectively, the commission said in a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra on Thursday.
According to the data, 21 press institutions operate in the Kingdom, including nine daily, nine weekly and three monthly newspapers. The number of licensed online news websites stood at 122, while the number of licensed production companies amounted to 216, according to Petra.
