11 suspected drug dealers arrested as AND raids continue

AMMAN — Public Security Directorate (PSD) spokesperson on Tuesday said that the raids against drug dealers continue in the same momentum in various governorates in the Kingdom.

During the past 24 hours, a number of raids were carried out in the Ramtha District as well as Irbid and Zarqa, where 11 suspected drug dealers were arrested.

In Ramtha District, one of the most active drug traffickers was monitored.

After receiving intel about him preparing an explosive device to be detonated once his house is raided by the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND), security force personnel lured him to his vehicle, where he was arrested after attempting to use a firearm, according to the PSD spokesperson as reported by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

In his house, one kilogramme of industrial hemp, narcotic pills and a firearm were seized.

In Zarqa, nine drug dealers were arrested, he said, adding that a drug dealer was also arrested in Irbid where a firearm, 4,000 narcotic pills and a handful of cannabis were seized.
