AMMAN — Disbursement of the Makruma (Royal benefaction) began on Wednesday, Minister of Social Development Ayman Mufleh, who is also the chairman of the National Aid Fund, announced.
The NAF transferred JD100 as makruma for each household benefiting from monthly assistance. Nearly 107,000 households received the funds through e-wallets, out of which 30,000 are single-person households, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
At an estimated value of JD11 million, the makruma is meant to alleviate burdens for the beneficiaries of the monthly assistance during Ramadan, the holy month of fasting.
