AMMAN — Ten per cent of the Kingdom’s population, nearly one million, are using the Aman (Safety) app, which alerts users if they come into contact with a COVID-19 patient, the Health Ministry announced on Wednesday.
The ministry said that several people have contacted health authorities after they received exposure notifications to alert them that they had been in contact with COVID-19 patients.
The “privacy conscious” app has helped in detecting 13 new infections so far, among which three cases were registered on Tuesday, according to a ministry statement cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The Health Ministry also highlighted the importance of Aman app in breaking the chain of infection and containing the pandemic, Petra reported.
