‘Non-traditional celebrations’ to mark Kingdom’s 2nd centennial — Tweissi

By JT - Dec 07,2020 - Last updated at Dec 07,2020

AMMAN — Culture Minister Bassem Tweissi said on Sunday that entering the Kingdom’s second centennial is “a great occasion” to commemorate Jordan’s previous achievements and its future potentials, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Tweissi said that a national programme will be dedicated to celebrate the centennial anniversary throughout the coming year. The minister added that the celebrations, which would take place following May 2021 or mid July 2021 in all governorates, are “non-traditional” in the sense that they would not attract crowds due to the current health situation.

All institutions will contribute to the festivities, including educational entities, as 10 academic conferences will be held in universities in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Culture, Petra reported.
