‘The Artist of the Arabs’ Mohamed Abdo to perform in Petra on May 26

AMMAN — The acclaimed Saudi musician, Mohamed Abdo, affectionately known as “The Artist of the Arabs”, will perform on Friday, May 26, at the Petra Cultural Village as part of the series of events called “Rose City Nights”, according to a statement from the organisers. 

With a career spanning 60 years, the Saudi singer and oudist Abdu is credited with preserving classical songs representing centuries-old Arab heritage. He has made his mark across the Middle East and the Arab world. 

The concert promises to be a night filled with the musical notes and flavours from the Arabian Gulf in the midst of the magical ambiance of the rose-red city, the statement said. 

The orchestra will be conducted by Maestro Hany Farhat, adding to the experience. Mohammed Abdu will present a selection of his most famous and beloved songs.
